Who we are The Forrestal Association is a non-profit veterans organization established in 1990, our current membership has grown to over 2700 members. Our organization is committed to preserving the memory and spirit of the Forrestal. As our ship sits, tied to a pier in Rhode Island, we are fully in support of the efforts to turn her into a museum. Bottom line is, the association is about memories. Our activities not only focus on those happy events we all like to remember, but we also take time to bid farewell to association members who have passed on and to remember shipmates who made the ultimate sacrifice.
