"Sailors To The End" By Gregory Freeman This book is the story of July 29, 1967 aboard the USS Forrestal. The story described in this book
can be summed up best by someone who was actually there, Senator John McCain; "The
scale of the tragedy aboard the USS Forrestal on July 29, 1967, was surpassed only by
the bravery of the men who fought the inferno that should have consumed it. I will
never forget that day, not simply because it was one of the worst accidents in the
history of the Navy, but because thousands struggled for days, and 134 men perished, to
save the ship and all aboard, including me. Their heroism is memorialized in this
riveting account of the Forrestal fire." If you ever served aboard Forrestal, or just want to read an inspiring story about a piece of american naval history, this book is a must read. Visit this site for more information about the book and how to order it. "Situation Critical- USS Forrestal"
